Privacy Policy — Epublify

Last updated: 28 July 2026

Epublify is a Chrome extension that saves chapters from a web novel you are reading as an EPUB file on your own computer.

Short version

Epublify has no server. Nothing you do with it is sent to the developer or to anyone else. There is no account, no analytics, no tracking, and no remote code. Everything happens inside your browser, and the only thing that leaves it is the EPUB file, which is saved to your own Downloads folder.

What Epublify accesses

Epublify does nothing on any page until you open its panel and click Scan. When you do:

Requests the extension makes are ordinary browser requests and carry whatever cookies you already have for that site, exactly as if you had opened the page yourself. This is what lets it read chapters on a site you are signed in to. The extension does not read, store, or transmit those cookies.

What Epublify collects

Nothing.

Epublify does not collect, store, or transmit personal information, browsing history, or usage data. Page content is held in memory only for as long as it takes to build the book, and is discarded when the job finishes or the browser is closed. No data is written to extension storage, and no data is sent to any server operated by the developer or by a third party.

Data sharing

Epublify does not sell or transfer any user data to third parties. It does not use or transfer user data for any purpose other than saving the chapters you selected as an EPUB file. It does not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

Permissions and why they are needed

Permission Why
Access to all sites Chapters live on whichever site you are reading, and often on a different domain than the page that lists them. Only URLs found on the page you scanned are requested.
tabs To open a background tab for a page that will not load with an ordinary request, and to send progress updates to the extension’s own panel.
scripting To read the finished HTML of that background tab after the page has rendered.
offscreen To run a long job in a hidden document so it survives you navigating away or closing the tab you started from.
downloads To save the finished EPUB file.

Children

Epublify is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date at the top.
